Mission of Towards Finance

The publication Towards Finance aims to build a global investment research community. We want to promote the knowledge exchange between software engineers, data scientists, financial analysts and financial experts. Let’s bring together the know-how of all the experts in these fields because we can achieve great things together.

If you’re interested in finance, this publication is right for you. TF writers share their knowledge and learn from other experts:

• You’re a software engineer and build software for the financial industry. Then share your experiences and knowledge with the TF community.
• You’re a Data Scientist with a focus on financial data. Great! The publication Towards Finance is your place for writing.
• You’re a financial expert and want to share your knowledge? Excellent. Share your knowledge with the TF Community and learn from others.
• You’re interested in finance in general or you’re a coach for money mindset? Write your thoughts down, and publish your knowledge. We can all learn from each other.

We accept unique and high-quality articles on the following topics:

All submissions should be well-researched and reveal new perspectives for TF readers. Before submitting an article, make sure you follow our submission guidelines.

Please follow the points below if you want to publish your articles with us:

Medium’s Rules

All submissions must comply with the Medium Rules. Please check if your article complies with these rules. All articles that violate these rules will be reported.

TF Styleguide

Your article should follow the style below:

• Set the title and subtitle (optional)
• Use Medium’s formatting options (headings, sub-headings etc.)
• Use Medium code blocks for embed source code in your article.
• You must have the image rights if you use images in your article. The images must be commercially usable. Please check the image license. For example, you can use images from Unsplash. If you use images from others, give the photographer a credit. We change/remove images if the source is not evident.
• The reading time of an article should be four minutes or longer. We reject all shorter articles.
• We only accept articles written in English and German!

Quality

Don’t skimp on the introduction. The introduction decides whether a reader will find your article worth reading. In addition, your article should be unique, original and well structured. The best way to take a reader with you is to talk about your own experience. Present your own ideas and creativity so that the reader can feel your enthusiasm for the topic in the text.

We expect high-quality content from our writers. Please avoid clickbait in titles and subtitles. We also don’t accept AI-generated texts. We reserve the right to reject suspicious texts. You can use AI tools to improve your grammar and spelling (for example: Grammarly). But please don’t use AI tools for generating content or the structure of your article. The best articles come from people, so please be aware of this.

Again: AI-generated texts will be rejected!

References

Please research carefully and cite all sources you have used. You can cite sources at the end of a source list or via an inline link. Paragraphs that make assertions without citing or linking to sources will be rejected. You can also link to other Medium articles, which helps the discoverability of your post.

SEO

Do you want that your article to be found better by search engines? Then you can consider the following tips:

• Set topics so readers know what your article is about. You can do this in the article settings. Please use one of the following topics: Finance, Technology or Artificial Intelligence.
• Set an SEO title for your article.
• Fill out the SEO description.

These tips will ensure better exposure to your articles.

Self-promoting

You are free to promote yourself. You can link your newsletter, your X or your LinkedIn profile. But please do it at the end of your article according to Medium’s guidelines.

Affiliate Disclosures

You may use affiliate links in your articles. But you must mark them with a disclosure. Undisclosed affiliate links may be rejected. You can mark affiliate links with an asterisk (*) at the end and add a disclosure at the end of the article.

Investment Disclaimer

If you write about investment or trading strategies, please put a disclaimer at the end of your article. You can use your own disclaimer or the following example disclaimer:

Review your article

We only accept unpublished drafts. Please don’t submit already published articles. In addition, we prioritise stories behind Medium’s paywall. But we also accept articles that are not behind the paywall. The Medium Paywall is a great tool to reward the work of writers.

You may submit articles from your blog to our publication if you have the rights to the text. Also, republishing must comply with the Medium republishing guidelines. Please check that your article meets our submission guidelines before submitting it.
